A Piece of Sicily has been sitting on my server for years. It’s a directory of real Sicilian products that sends visitors to buy directly from the producer’s own website. I built it with good intentions, at some stage I also spent some good money on it, then let it rot. The catalog was full of dead external links, products from vendors who’d shut down, and a scraper script that…

Many entrepreneurs focus in design, colors, typography. Yet, a landing page has only one goal: convince users to submit their email address for permission marketing. And how do you convince people? Well, by fixing their most painful problem, overcoming their biggest doubt, or answering their most important question.

What a cool tool I came across via StackOverflow! It’s a “just-copy-and-paste” CSS generator for ribbons/badges, which I just used on my WooCommerce site and managed to make it work in 5 minutes! Tool link: css-generators.com/ribbon-shapes

This isan extremely good conversation about Stripe disputes. Most problems can be solved with a few lines of code or email/address validators: https://x.com/dqmonn/status/1884925515431026919

As I reflect on the past year, it’s clear that it’s been one of transformation and growth—both personally and professionally. Despite a 50% drop in search engine traffic, I worked fewer hours and earned just as much, proving that focus and priorities make all the difference. I finally let go of 90% of my clients, dedicating my energy to products over services, and it’s been a game-changer. Big wins like…

This technological revolution promises to transform the way we consume and produce information. However, it also raises significant concerns about the future of human creativity and the quality of content.

I’ve been playing fantasy football for years, mostly Serie A, and every single week I go through the same routine of checking who my players are facing before deciding who to captain and who to bench. I got tired of doing this by eyeballing fixture lists and trying to remember which teams are strong at home or weak away, so I built myself a little tool to do the thinking…

Today I turn 45. I’ve never been particularly interested in birthday posts, mostly because they often end up sounding either celebratory or nostalgic, and I don’t really feel either of those things right now. What I feel instead is that strange sensation of standing at an important junction, where continuing in the same direction starts to feel riskier than making a deliberate turn. Dante famously wrote that he found himself…

This is an interesting thread and trend, I’ve never tried it before. I’m a breakfast person, also I tend to eat lots of carbs/sugars and I’m kinda unhappy about my fat levels. This 36-hrs experiment may be a good idea, starting with 13 hours (skip breakfast), moving to 20 (skip breakfast and lunch), then 32 (skip breakfast, lunch, dinner). We’ll see.

2023 has been a good year for me and Business Bloomer overall. I couldn’t manage to write a review last year, so the 2021 recap is the only one available for now. I’ll see if I can use this personal blog a little more this year and commit to at least a 2024 review at the end of the year! Regarding 2023, here’s the shortest recap I could write –…

I’ve been away from my desk for more than 2 weeks, and it feels great. You don’t know you need some rest until the day you decide to rest and switch off. My 2021 was a roller-coaster. Amazing, tough, rewarding, sleepless, incredible. On a personal level, it’s been my best year ever. On a business level, it’s been my best year ever. Yep, not sure I can get any better…

I’ll be short because I really need to sleep. It’s 2.17am and my wife and son fell asleep a few minutes ago. We’ve had a strong cold for the last week, and it’s been difficult to look after both, especially Lorenzo, as we really didn’t know what to do given it was his first time with fever and a blocked nose. But that’s not the point. What’s bugging me this…
